National Creature Disease Preparedness and Response Plan

The 2018 Farm Bill established the National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program to boost the nation'due south efforts to keep loftier-consequence animal diseases from entering and spreading in the United States.   • Land-Grant Universities and other entities eligible to receive funds under a capacity and infrastructure plan (as defined in section 251(f)(1)(C) of the Department of Agronomics Reorganization Act of 1994 (7 United statesC. 6971(f)(i)(C))). This includes entities eligible for the National Constitute of Food and Agriculture Federal Assist Programs.
  • Colleges of veterinary medicine, including a veterinary emergency team at such higher.
  • State or national livestock producer organizations with direct and significant economic interest in livestock product.
  • Land emergency agencies.
  • State, national, allied, or regional veterinary organizations or specialty boards recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
  • Indian Tribes.
  • Federal agencies.

NADPRP Accomplishments and Funded Projects

To appointment, APHIS has invested $22.i 1000000 to back up 120 new animal disease prevention and preparedness projects with State, industry, and university partners. Details well-nigh the funded projects are provided below.

The NADPRP Consultation Lath provides stakeholder input to APHIS to guide the NADPRP program and assist in identifying funding priority topics. The Board likewise includes a representative nominated by USDA's Agronomical Research Service and a Tribal nation representative nominated past the APHIS Office of the Tribal Liaison.
